Drop a picture here — AI enhancement starts on its own
JPG, PNG or WebP — up to 20 pictures at once
How to enhance a photo for free
Three steps — no account, no payment, and the photo never leaves your browser.
Drop a photo on the page
Drag a JPG, PNG or WebP onto the drop zone, tap Choose pictures to browse your device, or press Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac) to paste from the clipboard — screenshots count. Up to 20 photos in one batch, no file-size cap.
Enhance — free, with nothing held back
Auto fix instantly corrects exposure, contrast, colour and sharpness. Enhance with AI runs Real-ESRGAN on your device to rebuild lost detail at 1×, 2× or 4×. Both engines are completely free — no account, no watermark, no daily quota, no premium tier. The split preview shows the before and after side by side.
Download or copy the result
Press Download enhanced for the current photo, or Download all for the whole batch. Copy puts the enhanced photo on your clipboard as a PNG, ready to paste into a message or document. Every output keeps the original format — JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG, transparency intact.
Questions about the free photo enhancer
- Is this photo enhancer really free?
- Yes — free means free here, not a trial. There is no account to create, no watermark stamped onto results, no daily or monthly limit, and no premium tier that gates better quality. The tool costs nothing because it runs entirely in your browser, so there is no per-photo server cost to recoup.
- What is the catch?
- There is no catch. Most online photo enhancers charge or watermark because they pay for GPU servers to process your photo. This tool runs the AI model on your own device through WebGPU or WebAssembly, so the operating cost is zero and there is nothing to monetise by restricting access.
- Do I need to create an account or sign up?
- No. The tool works the moment you open the page — no email, no password, no OAuth, no app to install. There is no login button anywhere because there is no server-side account to log into.
- Is there a daily limit on how many photos I can enhance?
- No limit at all. Process one photo or a hundred in the same session — the tool does not count, throttle or expire. Each batch holds up to 20 photos, and you can start a new batch as soon as you are done.
- Will my photos be watermarked?
- Never. The output is a clean enhanced photo with no overlay, badge or branding of any kind. What you download is exactly what the split preview shows.
- Does 'free' mean lower quality than paid tools?
- No. The AI engine is Real-ESRGAN (realesr-general-x4v3), the same open-source super-resolution model used by many paid services behind the scenes. Running it on your device rather than a server is a delivery choice, not a quality compromise — the model weights are identical.
- Do my photos get uploaded to a server?
- No. Decoding, enhancement and re-encoding all happen inside your browser tab. There is no upload endpoint, so no photo, filename or pixel ever leaves your device. The only download is the one-time 4.9 MB AI model on first use, cached afterward.
- Can I enhance photos offline?
- The Quick fix engine works offline once the page has loaded. The AI engine needs a one-time 4.9 MB model download on first use; after that it is cached and works offline too. No internet connection is needed during actual processing.
- What file types and sizes are supported?
- JPG/JPEG, PNG and WebP, up to 20 per batch. There is no file-size cap — a 50 MB photo loads fine because nothing is uploaded. The AI pass reads up to 4 megapixels on GPU-accelerated devices (0.7 MP on CPU-only) and outputs up to 40 megapixels.
Why this enhancer is free (and stays free)
Most photo enhancement sites charge per photo or gate full-quality output behind a subscription because they process every image on their own GPU servers — and GPUs are expensive by the minute. This tool takes the opposite approach: the AI model ships to your browser as a one-time 4.9 MB download and runs on your device through WebGPU or WebAssembly. There is no per-image server cost, which means there is no reason to charge, limit or watermark.
The model itself is Real-ESRGAN (realesr-general-x4v3), an open-source super-resolution network released under the BSD licence. It is the same model that powers many paid services — the difference is where it runs, not how good it is. On top of AI upscaling, the Quick fix engine applies instant corrections for exposure, contrast, colour and sharpness using the Canvas API, which every modern browser supports natively.
If your photo needs quality cleanup at its current size (remove JPEG artifacts, noise, softness), the enhance photo quality page presets the AI pass to 1× — same pixels, better quality. If resolution is the goal, the enhance picture resolution page opens at 4× with a table showing the new dimensions. For background on every engine and slider, see the about page.
Free and private — nothing leaves your device
Every photo is decoded, enhanced and re-encoded inside your browser tab. There is no upload endpoint, no analytics on your files and no server-side processing at all. The only network traffic is the one-time AI model download on first use; after that the enhancer keeps working with the network switched off.
