Others are genuinely short on pixels: a thumbnail saved from a chat, an old export, a crop that got too ambitious. Those need detail put back, which is a job for a neural network.

Quick fix handles the first case in milliseconds. It measures where your picture's darkest and brightest 0.4% of pixels sit in each colour channel and stretches the range back to full black and full white, then layers on tone curves, a luma-preserving saturation pass so skin stays believable, an unsharp mask for soft edges, and a smooth resample of up to 4×.

AI enhance handles the second case with Real-ESRGAN — the realesr-general-x4v3 super-resolution network — executed entirely on your device through WebGPU, or WebAssembly where no GPU is available.
